Thyateira Union honours its history by supporting the local community of Kavala.
Everyone’s heart-warming response to the concert of Marinella and Mario Frangoulis, organized by Thyateira Union on 19/07/2022 at the Ancient Theatre of Philippi of Kavala for a charitable cause, turned into a tangible support of the local community.
Thyateira Union’s President Mr. Georgios Papagiannopoulos initially visited the Prefect of Kavala’s region Mr. Alexis Politis and then, the offices of the Federation of Professional Craftsmen of the Prefecture of Kavala, accompanied by the President of the Association of Commerce of Philippi, Ms. Evgenia Filosoglou. Thyateira Union immediately purchased two defibrillators, from a local store of Kavala to strengthen the local economy. It was suggested by the local authorities to contribute to the needs of the National Health System.
To underline this gesture, on Friday 09/09/2022, the President of the Federation of Professional Craftsmen of the Prefecture of Kavala, the President of the Association of Commerce of Philippi and the President of Thyateira Union, handed over two defibrillators to the Mayor of Kavala, Mr. Theodoros Mouriadis, so that he could arrange their installation in public places in Krinides area and make sure they are maintained properly.

Therefore, our Organisation and the Mayor of Kavala agreed on initiating a cooperation between Thyateira Union and the Municipality of Kavala, aiming to institutionalize an annual event honouring the history of Philippi, which continues to be the starting point for the spread of Christianity throughout Europe and the whole world and the fact that it’s legacy was connected to the establishment of the Sacred Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain!
